This presentation examines comprehensive provisions for verbal talents in two schools, covering systematic identification methods to recognise linguistically gifted students, specialised programming approaches and competitive platforms that showcase and develop students' verbal abilities.
In the first strand, the presenter will share about her school’s approach to the development of talent in oracy. Her sharing will provide insight into how oracy development is structured into the design of the school’s broader EL curriculum, with built-in extension activities for HALs to surface oracy talents. The presentation will also include information on other platforms and avenues to nurture oracy talents in the school.
In the second strand, the presenters will share about their school’s talent development programme for verbal talents in Language Arts. Their presentation will look at the identification and programming for this enrichment, focusing on how the various competencies and talent areas of the discipline are considered and nurtured through a myriad of platforms.

Ms Aprilene Goh is the Head of Department for English Language at Blangah Rise Primary School, where she leads curriculum design and leverages her secondary and pre-university teaching experience to strengthen the school’s EL curriculum.
Ms Elaine Heng, Senior Teacher for English Language, specialises in high-ability learner development and drives pedagogical innovation in oracy and literacy.
Mr James Han, School Staff Developer, supports teacher growth and talent development through professional learning across the school.
Ms Amanda Loh leads curriculum development for High-Ability Learners in English Language. She champions differentiated instruction approaches to ensure appropriate stretch and challenge within structured programmes that foster speaking and writing excellence.
Ms Wang Kaifen co-oversees the D3T2 Language Arts Programme, creating authentic learning experiences for students. Her approach guides students in contributing to the school community through various language and literacy initiatives.
Ms Aisyah Junadi co-leads the D3T2 Language Arts Programme, designing engaging experiences for High-Ability Learners. Her work enables students to apply their talents through the school-wide Language and Literacy programme.
