Mathematics

Date: 16 March 2026

Time: 1400-1530

Venue: Teams

Presenters:

1. Mr Vo Van Hung (Catholic High School)

2. Mdm Ho Siew Hoon (Nanyang Primary School)

Low-floor, high-ceiling lessons that infuse elements of CAIT (Critical Thinking, Adaptive Thinking and Inventive Thinking) offer high-ability learners (HALs) a treasure trove of opportunities to hone not only their problem-solving skills but also their ability to communicate mathematical ideas with rigour and cogency. This session seeks to provide participants with insights on how novel operations can serve as a springboard from which such tasks can be developed. There will also be a discussion on how these tasks can be implemented to cater to different gradations of readiness among HALs (differentiated instruction).
